Staffing and Programs

Program Manager-Violence Prevention Coordinator works directly with the community, police, clergy, probation, parole and social service agencies to develop a Community Violence Prevention Plan to end gun and street violence and, establish linkages to programs to provide resources for clients.

Outreach Supervisor/Outreach Workers provide direct case management services to clients, assisting them in returning to school, job search, job training and working with resources related to substance abuse and anger management. A number of the clients are on parole or probation, which results in numerous contacts with the court system. Many clients require serious intervention to get them back in compliance with conditions of parole and probation to move them away from possible incarceration.

Violence Prevention Advocate-Hospital Responder reports to hospital emergency and trauma unit to bring comfort to victim and families, mediate conflicts and possible retaliations that occur after conflicts resulting in street violence refers individuals to Outreach Workers locally in other sites.

Violence Interrupters street staff work totally and directly with those who are involved in street violence to mediate disputes, deter retaliations and refer individuals who want to change their life styles to the Outreach Workers (case managers).

Community Canvasser distributes public information materials and help recruit volunteers for special events, tutors, mentors and specific topic presentations for client groups.
